Mr. Smith
This year marks my 19th year of teaching, the last twelve here at Conestoga High School. My undergraduate liberal arts degree is from the Gallatin School at New York University where I designed my own major around my interests in dramatic writing and music. I have a Master's degree in Multicultural Education from Eastern University. Here at CHS, I am the moderator for the literary magazine (The Folio). I come from a family of teachers, including my mother and my two sisters. My wife and I have three dogs and a koi pond.
I'm a songwriter. When I'm not grading your papers, I'm sitting at the piano or behind a guitar making words rhyme. Right now I'm working on something I'm calling a song-suite, a 3-song seamless suite of pieces that are accompanied by the Dark Horse Orchestra from Philadelphia. I've been working for the past three years on a musical with my friend Steven Hanna. It's working title is "Page Two." It's about a time-traveling 1930s Hollywood songwriter, I was able to finish it this summer. You can find more information about that part of my life at my website.
